Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded specialist SEND school within a well-established multi-academy trust in Sheffield.

\n

This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist setting, working with pupils who have a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication needs and associated complex needs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally. As part of a multi-academy trust, there may also be opportunities to work across other specialist settings within the trust.

The Role\n
    \n
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day.
  • \n
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • \n
  • Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Support pupils in achieving the outcomes outlined in their EHCPs.
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and nurturing approaches.
  • \n
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • \n
  • Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • \n
The Ideal Candidate\n
    \n
  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEND, or has transferable experience from care, support work, healthcare, residential care, youth work or mental health services.
  • \n
  • Is naturally nurturing, patient and genuinely care-focused.
  • \n
  • Has a passion for supporting children with complex and high levels of need.
  • \n
  • Is calm, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • \n
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families.
  • \n
  • Has a positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a lasting difference in children's lives.

Pay Rate\n

The daily rate for this position is £95-£120 per day.

Where you fall within this pay range will depend on several factors, including:

  • Your previous SEND or relevant support experience.
  • \n
  • Relevant qualifications, training and specialist skills.
  • \n
  • The budget allocated to the role by the school. While Tradewind Recruitment always strives to secure the highest possible rate for our candidates, the final daily rate will ultimately be determined by the school's available budget for the position. This means that candidates with similar experience and qualifications may receive different rates depending on the funding available for the role.
